ACRE Oceans (Asia Pacific)

Location, inventory and imaging of historic marine data for ocean and sea areas around SE Asia and China.  Data recovered includes voyages to and from the target area, meaning that the oceanic coverage is global.  The data are recorded in ships' logbooks from the mid 19th century to mid 20th century, held by the UK National Achives, London and the UK National Meteorological Archive, Exeter. The data are from naval vessels, including stationary harbour vessels moored at places such as Hong Kong in the 19th century.
